I grew up in Chicago in a big, extended family.
My childhood was filled with family celebrations and gathering of all kinds -- birthday parties, graduation parties, baptisms, weddings, First Communions, holiday celebrations.
All of this time spent eating, drinking, laughing, and crying with family and loved ones gave me a great appreciation for the marking of major life events.
So it is that officiating weddings is one of my favorite parts of ministry.
I feel honored to be able to be with couples and their loved ones during a time filled with such anticipation, hope, and joy. I love hearing the excited chatter as people catch up with old friends. I love seeing the smiles on people's faces as they watch the newly married couple walk past them for the first time. I love the tears of happiness that are shed when the couple says their vows.
When I'm not immersed in the joy of officiating weddings, I have the honor of serving as Minister of the Unitarian Church of Montpelier, mother to a curious and active kiddo, and partner to the love of my life.
